A Makaha family really needed an handicap
accessible extension for one of their disabled children. So Wiseco
Development Corporation was tasked to provide a spacious, comfortable
and economical extension to meet their need. This extension
included a bedroom with bathroom with separate accesses like an
independent unit. It also included a large guest bedroom with
spacious closets, a laundry room and a large covered outdoor foyer.
There are several green construction features in
this addition. First the walls are made out of insulated concrete
forms construction which is not only very comfortable in hot climates
but it is very green. The roof is also lined with energy efficient
fiberglass insulation and has an exhaust power fan installed in it.
The large covered foyer reduces the houses energy consumption. The
many windows and doors provide natural ventilation and lighting.
Ceiling fans throughout this extension are another green feature.
